We may be called Twin Cities & Western Railroad – but we are not just in the Twin Cities. We are a regional railroad based in Glencoe, Minnesota and in your neighborhood!
Our mission is to provide safe, effective, and efficient freight route transportation to the customers and communities we serve.

Over 360 Miles of Track
TC&W operates over 360 miles of track serving a variety of industries and some of the most productive agricultural counties in Minnesota and South Dakota. Almost anything can be transported by rail. Whether your freight is grain, aggregates, lumber, farm machinery, liquids, plastics or most anything else, it can be moved by rail.

Largest Short Line Railroad in Minnesota
Interchanging with all the Class 1 railroads in the Minneapolis/St. Paul terminal area, TC&W provides a gateway to world markets for the surrounding areas. Operating as far east as St. Paul, Minnesota and as far west as Milbank, South Dakota, TC&W is the largest short line railroad company in Minnesota.

Gateway to the World
TC&W’s history involves many railroads, and we continue to operate many different railroads today. Twin Cities & Western Railroad Company, Minnesota Prairie Line (MPL) and Sisseton Milbank Railroad (SMRR) offer valuable rail services to our customers. Shipping via rail is environmentally-friendly and often more cost-effective than trucks, especially for long hauls.
